I have run out of my homemade jam! With only weeks away from local berries being ready I wanted to make a small amount so I used strawberries from my local grocery store.
This is an easy and delicious recipe that only requires a few ingredients. It makes enough for one jam jar and will last for about 10 days in your refrigerator (ours will be gone well before then).
Ingredients
2 cups strawberry coarsely chopped
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp butter
Instruction
In a heavy bottom saucepan, mix strawberries, sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice and butter.
Stir over medium low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
Increase heat to medium high and bring mixture to a rolling boil. Stir frequently and continue to boil until jam is thickened and bubbles (about 10 minutes).
Transfer into a container or jam jar until cooled. Seal or tightly cover and store in the refrigerator for about 10 days (or freeze).
Tips
Serve with toast, scones or ice cream.
Stir a small amount into your yogurt, add granola and enjoy.
