Brittany’s Oreo Truffles

Brittany’s Oreo Truffles

My daughter Brittany has chosen a new favourite holiday sweet treat that is simple to make and a guaranteed crowd pleaser and a bonus it does not require the oven!

She loves popping them in the freezer and having them available at a moments notice. The toppings are endless and can be themed to any occasion. This recipe uses simple ingredients with an amazing result. Here it is, be as creative as you want!

1 – 16oz package of regular Oreo cookies

1 – 8oz. package of cream softened

16 oz. vanilla or chocolate candy melts or melted white, milk or dark chocolate

Crush 40 cookies to a fine crumb in a food processor.

Reserve about 2 tablespoons of crumbs for topping.

Add in the softened cream cheese and mix well until fully combined.

Using a small cookie scoop or spoon to measure the mixture.

Roll in smooth balls and place on a parchment lined cookie tray.

Place in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile melt candy melts or chocolate.

Remove truffles from the freezer and dip each into melted chocolate, lift out and allow access to drip off and place back on the cookie sheet.

if using crushed Oreos sprinkle immediately before chocolate sets. If you wish to drizzle over the chocolate coated Oreo balls allow them to set in the fridge for at least 5-10 minutes before this step.
