Pizza Dough

I always made homemade pizza dough in my bread machine, but my well used and beloved machine broke during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

With all of us spending more time at home, I have noticed the increase in home baking especially making bread. It certainly is good news as I believe that anything homemade always tastes better, but unfortunately for me bread machines are in high demand and are sold out!

So I have been on the hunt to find a simple and easy to make pizza dough. This is now my go-to pizza dough. the recipe is on the package of Presidents Choice pizza flour. However, I just used all purpose flour, and a lime flavoured carbonated water because it was what I had. I also sprinkled corn meal on the pizza pan and placed the dough on top. The only changes I made.

You can easily double the recipe and make a larger pizza.

Pizza Dough

  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup carbonated spring water (room temperature)
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:

  • Stir together flour, salt and yeast in a bowl. Add water and oil, stir until fully combined. Turn onto floured work surface.
  • Knead until dough comes together and forms into a ball. Transfer to oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and set in a warm place for 90 minutes or until double in size.

Makes one 11 inch pizza
